Call for Nominations: CFNN Leadership Team
The time has come – we need your opinion, potential leadership and investment in the future of food and nutrition. We are looking for dedicated and driven individuals to help propel the Chicago Food and Nutrition Network into the future of food and nutrition, and we want your help.
If you view yourself as someone who possesses the skills to be a leader and you currently have some available time to devote to this organization’s growth, we hope you will consider nominating yourself for one of the open CFNN Leadership Team positions (brief position descriptions below).

President Elect: Serves for one year and automatically becomes President of CFNN at the beginning of the following year. This persons main duties are to shadow the President and help maintain and recruit sustaining members. This person has been a member of CFNN for five or more years and/or has held a CFNN leadership or comparable position for two or more years.
Vice President Elect: This is a one year position that leads into the Vice President position. This person’s main responsibility is to assist the Vice President in member recruitment and maintenance, create/update member related materials as well as create/maintain an online membership/interactive directory or leverage LinkedIn as a membership only directory. This person will also assist the Vice President in providing regular team/member updates and assist the Social Host Director in event coordination. This person has been a member of CFNN for five or more years and/or has held a CFNN leadership or comparable position for two or more years.
Social Host Director: This is a one year position that involves being the main person responsible for communications and logistics regarding the planning of the networking events. Details include, helping to draft event invites, coordinate events, provide appropriate information to other CFNN leaders to post on the website, determining event logistics, such as raffles, signage, promo materials as well as working with the Vice President Elect and any other member volunteers to execute all aspects of event. This person has experience planning events and has been a CFNN member for one or more years.
Social Communications Officer(s): This is a one year position, with up to two people holding positions at the same time. This person(s) are responsible for communications via traditional and social media, as well as through the CFNN website, regarding any organization-related events or announcements, city-specific news/events considered to be of interest to members, and general nutrition- and food-related information/news. As such, officer(s) must possess a working knowledge of the following tools: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and WordPress. This person has been a CFNN member for one or more years.
Secretary – AKA Social Scoop Authority: This person is responsible for keeping meeting minutes, assisting the President as needed, drafting annual survey questions, assisting with the enrollment of new members, regularly checking the CFNN Hotmail account and responding as needed and assisting the Social Communications Officers with monthly social media platform content. This person has experience with organized groups and has been a CFNN member for one or more years.
Treasurer Elect: This is a one year position whose main role is to shadow and assist the existing Treasurer who has charge and custody of and is responsible for all funds and securities of the Network. This person has experience with balancing budgets and has been a CFNN member for one or more years.
